Essential Elements of a Luxury Vacation in Barbados

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Chances are you don’t get down to Barbados very often, so when you do go make sure you have everything planned out accordingly so you can maximize your luxury and enjoy your stay. No one wants vacation regrets, so put in the time necessary to ensure a great trip.

For starters a key element of a luxury Barbados vacation is staying at a luxury hotel. If you’re looking for luxury this is not the time to cheap out and by staying in a guesthouse.

Now, you don’t necessarily need to get the super deluxe suite to have a luxurious vacation; but you do need a nice hotel room. Obviously if you can afford it oceanview is best and will offer you the most relaxing of experiences. There is nothing quite like waking up in the morning to the bright tropical sunshine and opening your room doors out onto a beautiful balcony that overlooks the waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Great dining is also a key to a luxury Barbados vacation. You’re in the tropics, don’t eat at chain restaurants like Chefette. Instead spend your time and money at places that offer uniquely regional food prepared well by expert chefs, such as Champers and The Cliff.

For the ideal experience you will probably want to enjoy a combination of both fine dining and local dining. After all you’re not going to get the complete experience of Barbados by only sticking to fine dining establishments. Feel free to switch it up a little bit and dine with the locals every once in a while.

To round out your luxury Barbados vacation you may wish to consider the mode of transportation you’ll be using to get there. Although we would all love to take our own private jet to the Caribbean, if you can afford a first-class airline ticket then you’re all set for luxury. If you find first-class airline tickets to be cost prohibitive, especially on top of the cost of the beachside hotel room, you may wish to consider taking a cruise to Barbados instead. This isn’t always cheaper than a first-class ticket however you’ll get to explore an entirely new dimension of luxury as you will spend time on a cruise ship as well as explore the island.

At the end of the day Barbados is in and of itself a luxurious location, so planning a luxury Barbados vacation shouldn’t be too much of a problem. What really matters is that you get into the spirit of planning a vacation that is perfectly suited to your unique likes and dislikes and from there include luxury where ever you can. Even if you don’t have a lot of money affordable luxury is something that everyone can aspire to, and vacationing in Barbados you will find many opportunities to explore this concept and make your vacation truly luxurious.
